Specialist Two-Stroke Outboards

As noted above, there are still classes of legal two-stroke new engine sales, which we would describe as follows:
 
Commercial Operators
The majority of commercial operators in the UK have now changed over to using modern four-stroke engines. This reason is usually, and most simply, because the key commercail conisderatiion of fuel economy.  However some commercial operators still continue, quite leaglly, to buy and uses new two-stroke outboard engines. The main reasons for commercail operators using a two-stroke are freqently lightness: and/or the need to remove an engine on and off the boat reguarly - or the need to "self-service" an engine in a remote location. Thus a number of commercial operators  with robust workboats continue to use two-stroke outboard engines.
 
Racers  
All bona-fide racers can still buy new two-stroke outboard engines. We would need to see prooof of club racing status and an RYA racing licence etc
 
Life-saving., Rescue and Lifeboats (including Dedicated Rescue Craft)
All dedicated rescue boats, including RNLI rescue boats: volenteer-manned rescue boats and the mandatory rescue boats accried by merchant ships (both UK and overseas registered) can all still use tow-stroke outboard engines. Please note that these engines for dedicated rescue boat us often require specific SOLAS approvals: please contact ourselves for details.
 
Fire Brigades
The fire brigades are now the largest users of two-stroke engines: often in the 25hp to 30hp catagory. These tow-stroke engines for the fire brigades are frequently sold specially modified buy us with dedicated fire-brigade features such as large carry-handles, hour-meters etc
