At 5.2m long – nearly 15 feet - the Pioner 17 boats are the biggest boats in the Pioner fleet. The Pioner 17 boat has capability of six adults.
 
The weight of the Pioner 17 (no engine) is 450 kg, which is very indicative of both its robust and very seaworthy construction. Maximum outboard engine size on a Pioneer 17 is a powerful 60hp outboard engine, and with this engine fitted the Pioner 17 will reach 30 knots. The Pioner 17 is very fast, handles well and generally sea-worthy.

The Pioner Trio pedelos have a large enclosed paddle wheel situated towards the stern of the boat, with two “peddlers” seats placed either side of the enclosed pedel wheel box. The paddle wheels etc are constructed in aluminium, with steel axles and nylon running bearings.
